Organized by the National Agency for Medicinal and Aromatic Plants (ANPMA), the 1st International Congress on Medicinal and Aromatic Plants, held under the theme “From Extract to Active Ingredient,” was successfully hosted in Fès, bringing together researchers, experts, and institutional stakeholders from Morocco, as well as several Arab countries such as Sudan, Tunisia, Egypt, Jordan, Oman, and Kuwait, and European countries such as France, Belgium, and Italy.
Over the course of two days, discussions focused on scientific advancements, industrial applications, and the challenges related to the sustainable valorization of medicinal and aromatic plants.
A major component of the congress was dedicated to a professional exhibition space, showcasing products and services derived from medicinal and aromatic plants. This space allowed industries and professional organizations from the Fès-Meknès region and the Province of Tata / Souss Massa region to present their expertise, strengthening the synergy between scientific innovation and regional development.
Additionally, a panel discussion on success stories from industrial players and cooperatives highlighted the importance of partnerships between research, industry, and the agricultural sector in building a sustainable and competitive supply chain.
This event reaffirmed the central role of ANPMA as a platform for cooperation, innovation, and the promotion of a strategic sector for the Moroccan economy.
